Due to many false positives and the way the speedtest-cli is being used for testing speeds we hereby give you a better option to test your network speed.
The speedtest-cli application uses only one transfer thread with a single server. As we don’t know the actual network load and speed of the nearest speedtest server this is very bad practice for testing 1G/10G network performance.
We would recommend to test the network speed of your server with our iperf3 service. By issuing this command after installing the iperf3 binary you will test the network performance in both directions for 60 seconds with 8 threads.
